Registered Veterinary Nurse

Full Time | Thame | Starting January 2027

We’re building Ottie & George from scratch, and we’re looking for experienced RVNs who want to help shape how nursing works here from the very beginning.

We want our RVNs to use the full breadth of their nursing skills and play a proper part in the clinical team, not simply support the vets. You’ll be involved throughout the patient journey, from admission and preparation through anaesthesia, procedures and inpatient care to discharge, follow-up and preventative healthcare.

We’re looking for someone clinically capable, thoughtful and dependable, who takes ownership and notices the small things that can make a real difference to a patient, client or colleague.

What you’ll be doing

  • Anaesthesia, surgical nursing and patient preparation

  • Recovery and inpatient nursing

  • Nurse consultations and preventative healthcare

  • Schedule 3 procedures within your competence

  • Laboratory work, diagnostics and imaging

  • Medicines, clinical records and infection control

  • Supporting clients through treatment, discharge and ongoing care

  • Helping us develop strong clinical standards and sensible ways of working as we grow

You’ll also have the opportunity to build relationships with clients, develop your own clinical interests and take real ownership of areas of nursing that matter to you.

The person we’re looking for

You’ll need to be an RCVS-registered Veterinary Nurse with good clinical skills and sound professional judgement.

Beyond that, we care a lot about how you work. We’re looking for someone who is calm, thoughtful, organised and collaborative; someone who enjoys building relationships with clients, wants to keep developing their nursing skills and is comfortable taking responsibility within their competence.

Experience matters, but so does attitude.

What we want working here to feel like

We want Ottie & George to be somewhere good people enjoy coming to work.

That means high standards without unnecessary hierarchy. Taking the work seriously without taking ourselves too seriously. Helping each other when things get busy. Being able to say when you don’t know something. And treating colleagues, clients and patients with respect.

Most importantly, we want people to have the time, trust and support to do their jobs properly.

If that sounds like the sort of practice you’d like to be part of, we’d love to hear from you.
